I can help, give pointers? Is it okay if I save the picture to my computer and write notes on it? I can do that and send it to you.

I love how you rendered the ear- ears give me absolute trouble in all my drawings and paintings. No wonder I tend to draw/paint hair covering the ear. I either do that, or ask the art teacher 'How do I fix this ear' about fifty times a painting.
The nose looks nice, too. Noses are tough sometimes.
As far as nitpicky critique, I'd probably try to give the hair a little more flowing definition. Maybe you could try adding in a few individual strands of hair here and there?
Maybe I'd try to add in more values for each color- in essence, move a bit further than the basic highlight/base/shadows? I would try to throw in some interesting colors [consider a bit of subtle purple for shading in skin, maybe] to give the shadows a little more life.
Finally, I'd try to pick a specific light source/angle- that would help to show where the shadows should fall on the subject. [/art-geeking]
Otherwise, it's cool that you're working on digital painting.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Well, I think the reason that the quality really went downhill is because I got REALLY lazy later on, but sure! Pointers would be really nice!
